ERA5 Zarr mirror

ERA5 is ECMWF’s fifth-generation reanalysis of global climate and weather, covering the period from 1940 onwards. It provides hourly estimates of a wide range of atmospheric, land and oceanic climate variables. The data cover the Earth on a 30 km grid and resolve the atmosphere using 137 levels, from the surface to a height of 80 km.

Our ERA5 Zarr mirror offers a subset of this extensive collection, focusing on some of the most widely used datasets: ERA5-Land, ERA5 Single Levels and ERA5 Pressure Levels. It also includes a selection of Essential Climate Variables (ECVs), along with instructions for deriving them from our datasets. The original ERA5 data are available through the Copernicus Climate Data Store.

The datasets are provided as Zarr archives optimised for regional and time-series analysis, covering the full geographical and temporal extent available in the original datasets. Their original resolution is preserved, and the data are updated regularly.
